"The Bomb"?

Bombs are very unpleasant, right?  Recently "the bomb" came to mean something very positive:

"A phrase which was only popular during the early nineties. At the time, it meant 'exceptionally cool.'"

We can infer that the writer of the first definition thinks that "the bomb" isn't "cool" or in use anymore.  However, other people think that "the bomb" still means "awesome, phenomenal, the best."

Some slang has a short life.  I think "the bomb" isn't popular anymore, but some people still use it, maybe people in their thirties or a bit older.  Other slang has a very long life.  The word "cool" is almost 100 years old.
